Our School

Yanchep Lagoon Primary School commenced in 2018, catering for K-6 students in one of the fastest growing regions in the State. With the completion of new high school facilities in the area, the primary school remained on the Yanchep District High School site.

Yanchep Lagoon Primary School boasts a very experienced staff, many of whom have worked and lived locally for a number of years, and understand our community’s needs. All of our staff are committed to achieving positive outcomes for all students and are continually seeking ways to improve.

We are a Positive Behaviour School (PBS) and utilise the Dojo reward system to acknowledge the day to day positive behaviours of students. We attempt to work closely with parents for those students requiring more direct interventions to ensure positive behavioural and learning outcomes. We strive to ensure that all Special Needs students are catered for with comprehensive Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) developed collaboratively with parents and staff.

Yanchep Lagoon Primary School has a number of specialist staff offering programs in Music, Science, LOTE (Indonesian and Noongar) as well as a Physical Education. We run a Tiny Tots program for pre-Kindergarten children as well as after- school sporting activities through Sporting Schools funding. There is also a Reading School program which runs before school on a number of days to assist children who need an extra boost in reading to reach their appropriate NAPLAN level.

A number of the buildings on the old Yanchep District High School site are due to be demolished to make way for new facilities over the next few years. The grounds of the school feature many trees which give a lovely, almost rural feel, adding to the schools friendly and welcoming reputation. The long term outlook for the Yanchep area is bright with many new facilities planned for the near future.
